About the Position
The Maintenance Officer works under the supervision of the Buildings and Infrastructure Manager to provide proactive and reactive maintenance services. This role involves contributing to the supervision and assistance to contractors and exercising independent judgment on routine matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all required maintenance duties and tasks, including work related to potential refurbishment.
* Perform daily operational and maintenance checks of all plant, equipment, and buildings.
* Carry out general maintenance/handyman duties or work across other trade areas within skill level as required.
* Demonstrate understanding of relevant Australian Standards associated with maintaining a private hospital facility.
* Participate in after-hours on-call service, performing after-hours maintenance/emergency tasks as needed.
Requirements
* Relevant trade experience is desirable but not necessary (plumbing, mechanical fitter, electrical, or carpentry).
* Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, preferably hospitals.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
