Are you a talented Silviculture Forester seeking an exceptional growth opportunity with a well-regarded integrated forestry and timber processing company? This firm is a rapidly expanding business investing in new land, and they need a passionate and dedicated professional to join the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate day-to-day operations of the company's silvicultural activities.
Promote a strong safety culture and environmental compliance.
Foster strong relationships with silvicultural contractors, neighbors, and stakeholders
Work closely with managers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure planning and budget targets are met.
Oversee plantation establishment, maintenance, operations planning, and supervision.
Manage fire protection preparedness and response, mapping, safety, environmental works, and stakeholder consultation.
Key Result Activities
Ensure operations comply with the company's Safety Management System, complete incident reporting, and lead safety investigations.
Assist in the development and review of Operations Schedules, Operational Plans, and pre-operational planning assessments.
Monitor compliance with company Forestry Operating Procedures and other regulatory requirements.
Assist in monitoring and implementing the plantation health program, including nutrition management, pest and disease surveillance, and control.
Take the lead as Fire Captain for the development and implementation of annual fire protection plans.
Ensure firefighting equipment, staff, and contractor training meet standards.
Liaise with external stakeholders, responsible agencies, and neighbours on land management issues.
Assist in updating the company's GIS and develop Site Operations Plans and operational maps.
**Requirements**:
Background and proven experience in Silviculture, Planning, or Harvesting
Desire to learn and grow your skills in the forestry industry.
Excellent communication skills and ability to develop relations with contractors and the wider business.
