Key Responsibilities
* Form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships with children and young people by building trust through visible interest and active engagement.
* Act as an appropriate adult role model, engaging young people in purposeful activities that develop life skills and self-worth.
* Support family involvement and facilitate family visits or connections where applicable, promoting positive family relationships tailored to individual needs.
* Promote and encourage positive relationships with peers and other significant persons.
* Assist the child or young person to participate fully in making decisions about their activities.
QLD Child Youth and Family Requirements
To receive paid employment as a Youth Worker in QLD you need to have completed or provide evidence of an active relevant qualification. If you are unsure whether you meet these minimum standards, please consult the relevant authority.
* Unrestricted (Opens) Driver's Licence (essential)
* Valid Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
