The Canberra VW Centre is a small, independent, family owned workshop in Belconnen, specialising in service, mechanical repairs and performance tuning of VW, Skoda and Audi vehicles. We are experiencing consistent demand, and are looking for a mechanic/technician to join our tight-knit team.
Who we are looking for:
The successful applicant will aim for excellence in servicing, hold an Australian trade qualification in Vehicle Repair and Service OR be in the third or fourth year of an appropriate apprenticeship. Experience in Volkswagen / Audi Group vehicles is an advantage, but not essential. Specialising in only one group of vehicles, it is easy to learn the Volkswagen / Audi specifics, and we are happy to assist in training the right applicant. It is essential that they hold and maintain a current Australian driver's license (manual transmission) and be legally entitled to work in Australia. A positive attitude and fitting in to a small team well is essential. Quality of work is valued over and above quick / speedy work.
Duties:
* The successful applicant will be asked to perform some or all of the following
* Service and repair of VW / Audi / Skoda I.C.E. vehicles
* Fitting / Installing Performance hardware & software
* Replacement of clutches, cylinder heads, brakes & suspension components
* Test drive and diagnose vehicle faults
* Document work completed
Remuneration and working hours:
We are happy to receive applications from those looking for either full time or part time work. We are open to discussing full time, 9 day fortnight, 4 day week or short work days to work around lifestyle requirements and preferences. We are happy to meet with technicians who can complete all workshop tasks, or who want to specialise in one or two aspects.
We pay above award rates with performance based bonuses. Core hours 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday (No Weekend Work) with breaks totaling 37.5hrs a week. Final salary negotiable depending on experience. We pride ourselves on a low stress, hassle free work environment.
