Special Needs Education Assistant
Meadow Springs Education Support Centre provides education for students with intellectual disabilities and autism. With 89 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, the centre has a high student-to-teacher ratio.
The centre operates across 10 classrooms integrated throughout the Meadow Springs school site. The school community values collaboration and inclusivity.
The Role
This Special Needs Education Assistant will be responsible for supporting teachers in delivering planned education programs. This involves managing small groups of students under the direction of the teacher.
* Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with students, parents, and teachers. Strong interpersonal skills will contribute to a professional team environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities is necessary for providing support to students. Organisational skills will assist in the delivery of effective education programs.
* The successful candidate will also be responsible for contributing to the general health and well-being of students.
Requirements
* Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with relevant work rights is required.
* A Working With Children Check and National Criminal History Check are mandatory prerequisites.
