Position Details

- Position: Fixed Term (12 Months), Part Time (0.8 EFT)
- Location: Morwell
- Salary: $88,099 - $94,791 pro rata, plus superannuation and salary package

About The Role

This role has a dual focus of providing individual case management to persons using family violence, including education on the impact of their behaviour and to understand the effects of violence and the impact it has on their relationship and also their children whilst working with them to become better fathers. The role will also deliver and/or link into programs with a focus on men who commit family violence.

About You

- Understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally
- A bachelor’s degree in social work (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications policy or significant lived experience relevant to the work
- Appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
- Understanding of Family Violence and the implications on individuals, families and the community
- Understanding of the men's behaviour changes process and the gendered nature of family violence
- Sound knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008, Information Sharing and Multi Agency Risk Assessment Framework (MARAM)
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate documents and reports e.g. case notes, incident reports, court reports, work reports that meet audience needs
- Demonstrated commitment to advocating for non-violence, and to living non-violently with the families
- Knowledge of local family violence programs, accommodation, legal, health and community services within the region (or ability to quickly acquire)
- Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
