**Position Information**:
Sefton High School (enrolment 1109 including 95% from non-English-speaking background) is a co-educational, academically selective school with a parallel community stream intake. The school is characterised by a focus of high expectations of all students and staff. Quality, evidence-based teaching and learning in a highly structured, disciplined learning environment permeates the school which is recognised and supported by the community. **Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1.Demonstrated capacity for faculty leadership with a focus on professional learning, program development and implementation, quality teaching and assessment practice.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and leadership capacity of evidence-informed pedagogies within and beyond the faculty, to inspire high potential, and gifted students.
3. Capacity to collaboratively contribute to the success of the school executive team, promoting a shared responsibility for leading a culture of educational excellence that aligns with the school's strategic directions and values.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
