- Full-time, Fixed Term position until 31/12/2025- Salary HEW 5 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements- Based at the Bundoora campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University 
- About The Position 
RMIT is seeking a dedicated Technical Officer to support the day-to-day operations of the Health Biosciences laboratories, primarily in Chemistry and Pharmacy, with flexibility to assist across other STEM spaces as needed. Reporting to the Technical Coordinator, you will provide hands-on technical support, maintain and demonstrate laboratory equipment, prepare spaces for academic activities, and contribute to safe work practices through the development of documentation and implementation of OHS standards. You'll play a key role in ensuring laboratories are clean, safe, well-maintained, and responsive to the needs of staff and students. 
To be successful in this position, you’ll have: 
1. Demonstrated knowledge/experience in a Chemistry/ Pharmacy laboratory. 
- 2. Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining laboratory/workspace-based instruments/equipment relevant to Chemistry/ Pharmacy laboratories and generating appropriate operating documentation. 
- 3. Proven track record of building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including understanding and embracing a client focused framework. 
- 4. Demonstrated understanding of current OH&S; legislation with knowledge of other field or industry regulations or standards related to the field within the scope of the service area. 
- 5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds.
