What We're Looking For
We're seeking a passionate, proactive Data Scientist who thrives in a collaborative setting.
From a personal perspective, ideal candidates will:
* Have a natural curiosity and passion for learning, with a keen interest in analytics and AI-driven outcomes
* Be proactive planners and strong communicators, comfortable challenging the status quo while remaining empathetic and team-oriented
* Bring a hands-on attitude to data validation, transformation, and quality improvements, including automation improvement for efficiency and consistency
* Enjoy hypothesising and translating business goals into machine learning (ML) and AI propositions, including building, refining, and integrating models for practical applications
From a technical perspective, you'll need:
* A tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science (with electives in software engineering or database management) or Computer Science with prior analytics experience, or equivalent experience
* Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and version control tools
* Advanced knowledge of ML algorithms, generative AI (GenAI) models, and integration patterns
* Hands-on experience with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), integrated deployment pipeline and microservices architecture
* Exposure and knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
Experience Requirements (5 years minimum)
* Applied experience in developing and implementing data science and AI solutions
* Demonstrated experience building and deploying production ML systems, including end-to-end building, optimising and evaluating machine learning models and feature engineering pipelines
* Proven ability to collaborate with technical stakeholders on designing and integrating data science applications into existing systems
* A strong track record of delivering measurable business impact through data science initiatives
* Experience with DevOps workflows and tooling (e.g., CI/CD pipelines)
* Domain knowledge in financial services (e.g., insurance or banking) is highly desirable
