We are proud to offer in-house capabilities spanning marine construction, dredging, hydrographic survey, diving and environmental services. As we continue to grow our Hydrographic Survey Division, we are looking to add a skilled Hydrographic Surveyor to the team.
The Opportunity:
An exciting role that crosses over numerous survey disciplines, the Surveyor supports the delivery of onshore, nearshore and offshore projects through the planning, execution, and reporting of accurate land and hydrographic surveys.
Operating both independently and as part of a team, the Surveyor will conduct field-based surveys, conduct data processing, contribute to project reporting, and support construction, dredging and piling operations.
This position requires a high degree of technical competency, spatial awareness, and the ability to communicate effectively with project teams and site crews.
Key Responsibilities:
Using the most up-to-date technology (with on-the-job training) the Surveyor will undertake the following:
* Perform control, construction, and as-built surveys across marine and land-based operations.
* Execute topographic (GNSS, optical and photogrammetry) and hydrographic (single, multibeam, side scan) surveys in support of dredging, construction, piling, and structural installations.
* Conduct Photogrammetry surveys using drone technology.
* Provide survey set out for marine piling, structural steel placement, and land reclamation works.
* Install, configure, commission, and operate specialised positioning and machine control systems used in construction, dredging, and hydrographic applications.
* Digitise design concepts, create CAD drawings, and build geospatial models (DTMs, TINs etc.) for integration into machine control systems and dredge and hydrographic software.
* Perform data processing, quality control, and validation of topographic and hydrographic survey data.
* Compile and deliver concise technical reports, survey plans, and spatial data outputs in line with internal and client expectations.
* Advise Engineers, Project Managers, and site crews on spatial information, survey outputs, and technical requirements.
* Assist Project Managers with survey-related administration, including reporting, documentation, cost tracking, and coordination of subcontractors.
About You:
* Proven experience in hydrographic and or topographic surveying, preferably in marine construction, dredging, or civil infrastructure environments.
* Strong understanding of geospatial data, coordinate systems, and control networks.
* Familiarity with survey software such as 12D, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hypack, Dredgepack, Trimble Marine Construction or similar.
* Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Hydrography, Geospatial Science or a related discipline.
Desirable:
* Level 1 or 2 qualification under the Australasian Hydrographic Surveyors Certification Panel (AHSCP)
* Relevant certifications in hydrographic systems, GNSS technology, or CAD applications
* License or registration in land survey
* Coxswain (NC1) or willing to work towards
