One of our subsidiaries, Mainetec Pty Ltd, is looking for a qualified WELDER/FABRICATOR to join our Mackay QLD team.
">
Mainetec is a leading manufacturer who is a progressive OEM specialising in bucket manufacture, fabrication, heavy equipment repairs, Plasma Transfer Arc Welding, mine site maintenance, and parts supply.
">
The role includes but is not limited to:
">
1. Reading and interpreting project plans, engineering drawings, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks at hand;
2. Performing fabrication and repair works on various metal structures and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints;
3. Working with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys;
4. Welding small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines;
5. Performing appropriate types of welds based on project needs and specifications;
6. Ensuring fabrication and repairs are carried out using the proper safety guidelines to prevent rework jobs from occurring;
7. Using a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools;
8. Conducting quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets standard specifications;
9. Monitoring machinery for appropriate usage and temperature;
10. FOLLOWING AND ENFORCING STRICT SAFETY REGULATIONS such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
">
* A Trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication or Equivalent;
* Proficient in performing all welding, gouging, cutting, or other duties;
* Post-trade experience in the same field;
* A proactive attitude with the desire to work reliably as part of an outstanding team to deliver excellence for our clients;
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints;
* Experience working with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys;
* Familiarity with a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools;
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct quality checks on completed work;
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks;
* Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace;
* Strong communication and reporting skills;
* Self-motivated, organised, punctual, and reliable;
* Must have great work ethics.
