We are now expanding our team and need a dedicated Chef to help us continue delivering top-notch meals. Location: Coniston, New South Wales, Australia.
Responsibilities
* Plan and organize menus, estimate food requirements, and develop new recipes and menu items.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation.
* Ensure consistent quality control during every phase of dish preparation and plating.
* Prepare and cook food according to recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish.
* Communicate and uphold hygiene standards and regulatory requirements.
* Season food during cooking to enhance flavors and ensure optimal taste.
* Portion food, plate it, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes for presentation.
* Store food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and safety, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Order supplies and maintain inventory levels, ensuring efficient stock management.
* Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment to ensure optimal cooking conditions.
* Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements as requested by customers.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and proper storage practices.
* Discuss food prep issues with managers, dietitians, and staff.
* Provide guidance on culinary techniques and cooking methods.
* Monitor and adjust temperatures of ovens, grills, and other culinary equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Prepare dishes in accordance with individual nutritional restrictions and preferences.
* Mentor junior staff and guide apprentices in kitchen operations.
* Handle complaints according to guidelines to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Run day-to-day kitchen duties and coordinate with the team to meet demand.
* Communicate orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.
* Ensure food safety and WHS compliance is followed at all times.
* Assist in the management of food cost and food wastage.
What We're Looking For
* 2-3 years of experience as a Chef / Cook in a restaurant or similar setting.
* Certificate Iv In Kitchen Management or equivalent qualification .
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
* Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and consistency in every dish.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper storage practices.
* Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary
* $76,515 AUD per year + Superannuation
