St Patrick's College is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Officer to manage the upkeep, functionality, and safety of the College's facilities. This full time, hands-on role involves regular repairs, maintenance, and inspections across the campus, addressing carpentry, joinery, and other general tasks, as well as assisting with event setup and outdoor space management. You will respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure minimal disruption to daily school activities and ensure compliance with safety standards, contributing to a safe and effective learning environment.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
About You
As a Maintenance Officer you will:
Hold relevant trade qualifications, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance, or have equivalent practical experience in facilities maintenance.
Strong problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
Experience with using a range of maintenance tools and machinery, with a high level of knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.
A strong work ethic, eye for detail and a sense of pride in efficiently completing work to a high standard whilst maintaining the highest level of safety
Ability to effectively interact and maintain professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader College community.
Motivation, enthusiasm and a great attitude
Perform effectively in environments with competing demands, with the ability to coordinate routine activities, set priorities and deliver tasks on time.
An understanding of and ability to contribute to the mission of St Patrick's College as a Catholic school
