Overview
Procurement Manager – Property and Facilities Management role with News Corp Australia in Sydney. The role reports to the Head of Procurement – Directs and is responsible for the full end-to-end procurement lifecycle for services including Security, Electricity, Cleaning and Waste. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic and collaborative team of procurement professionals, taking an active lead in procurement and contract management activities for their category.
Responsibilities
* Procurement Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement forward-thinking category strategies to achieve cost savings, reduce risk, and increase operational efficiencies through market analysis, tendering, contract negotiation and contract implementation. Prepare high-quality procurement documentation, including procurement plans, tender packs and schedules. Develop strategies to optimise P&L and drive operational efficiencies.
* Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, RFQs and commercial negotiations, to secure optimal contract terms and pricing.
* Stakeholder Management & Partnering: Develop a collaborative partnership with the business to unlock value for stakeholders through all avenues of the sourcing and contract management lifecycle. Interact with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Risk, Insurance, Compliance, Sustainability) on a regular basis to ensure efficient delivery of procurement initiatives.
* Contract & Supplier Management: Provide expert advice on contract management matters. Oversee and manage existing supplier relationships, contract performance and compliance, and risk mitigation to maintain high-quality services and value.
* Project Management: Drive transformational procurement projects from initiation to completion and prepare and present award recommendations to senior management.
Who are you?
* Professional experience (5+ years) in Procurement roles; experience in Property and Facilities Management is highly desirable but not essential.
* Experience in strategic sourcing, project management, and supplier and contract management with strong written and verbal skills.
* Ability to build strong internal and supplier relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate a complex organisation.
* Confidence working with contracts—review, drafting and advisory support from senior procurement management and Legal.
* Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and delivering commercial and operational benefits.
