Lead Electrical Engineer
Our company is seeking a skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of electrical systems. This role requires technical authority, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex engineering deliverables from concept through to production.
This engineer will be responsible for leading the team in designing, developing, and integrating electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and communication networks for automotive, defence, and rail applications.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the technical authority for electrical engineering, ensuring compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards.
* Oversee requirements capture, verification & validation (V&V) activities across all project phases.
* Manage electrical engineering work packages, schedules, budgets, and technical risks.
* Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
* Conduct design reviews, inspections, and test readiness assessments.
* Ensure all engineering activities align with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
* Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, along with a proven track record delivering complex electrical systems for automotive, defence, rail industries or relevant industries.
Additional Requirements:
* Registered as a Professional Engineer in the area of electrical engineering, as required by law.
* Strong knowledge of relevant technical standards.
* Experience in systems engineering and structured V&V processes.
* Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools for electrical design (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, NX Electrical).
* Excellent technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain Australian Defence Security Clearance.
