We have an exciting opportunity for Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Kirkham, a category D Prison located in Kirkham, Preston.
We are looking for someone to support and coordinate a small team by managing planning, overseeing coordination, and supporting junior team members. The prison has its own Healthcare department where you will be based, and the primary care team consists of 10 members. HMP Kirkham has a capacity of 700 males.

Hours:
The role is part-time, working 16 hours per week, with shifts covering Monday to Sunday, including various times between 8am-7pm and occasional weekends on rotation.
Salary:
This position offers an annual salary between £33,232 - £40,211, depending on experience.

Requirements:
Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis. Employment offers are subject to vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
* Work within a multidisciplinary team to carry out assessments, develop care plans, and review treatment options
* Undertake medication rounds and assess patients with complex mental health needs
* Evaluate patient health needs, perform risk assessments, and provide advice and support
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and liaise with prescribers
* Promote best practice and support a safe, collaborative working environment

Qualifications required
* Qualified Mental Health Nurse - NMC registration
* Evidence of CPD
* Experience with patients with complex mental health conditions
* Experience with psychosocial interventions and substance misuse awareness
Experience in hospital, community, or prison settings is desirable but not essential.
