Family Violence Practitioner

As a Family Violence Practitioner, you will deliver quality, safe, and effective responses to children, young people, and families experiencing family violence. You will be responsible for delivering intake support via phone, within the agency site and through outreach visits.

Key responsibilities include:

* Actively managing a caseload of clients who are experiencing or have experienced family violence.
* Delivering screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals.
* Working collaboratively with other practitioners to support integrated risk assessment and planning.
* Applying for brokerage on behalf of clients when required.
* Referencing clients to services within the broader service system and providing them information and support.

The Orange Door Program brings together workforces from Community Service organisations, Aboriginal Services, Family Safety Victoria and DFFH, to deliver an integrated practice model and a consolidated intake point for individuals and families who are experiencing or have experienced family violence.

Uniting focuses on providing services to vulnerable families who require extra support with the care, development and wellbeing of unborn babies, infants, children and young people.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification as per the mandatory minimum qualification requirements for specialist family violence practitioners.
* Experience, skills and capabilities in child, youth and families welfare.
* Well-developed risk assessment and management skills.
* An understanding of the broader service system referral pathways.
* A sound understanding of the MARAM Framework, Best Interests Principles and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
* A current Driver's License valid in Victoria.
