The primary responsibility of this role is to work as part of a team in providing health promotion services within the Aboriginal community. This involves participating in community-wide education on various health issues, including chronic diseases, nutrition, sexual health, alcohol, physical activity, and smoking.

In addition, the Health Promotion Specialist will engage with local communities to identify and understand key health issues and health promotion needs. They will also work with internal staff, community members, and stakeholders to develop and implement health promotion initiatives and community development strategies.

The successful candidate will have experience in delivering health promotion activities and programs, as well as knowledge and understanding of holistic approaches to health service provision.

Other responsibilities include undertaking electronic record-keeping of statistics, assisting in planning and coordinating events, and promoting DYHS health calendar events and topics using tools like Noongar Radio.

We are seeking a qualified professional with a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Health or a related field, along with high-level communication and presentation skills.
