Sessional Academics – Anatomy & Physiology
The School of Biomedical Sciences is seeking enthusiastic and skilled sessional (casual) teaching staff to join our Anatomy and Physiology teaching team. This role involves delivering high-quality, hands-on practical classes to undergraduate students in a supportive and collaborative team environment.
You will be working under the leadership of the unit co-ordinator, with your teaching peers to create an engaging and inclusive learning experience, helping students develop the skills and knowledge required for success in health-related careers.
Selection will involve a group interview in a teaching lab, where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate both your technical knowledge and your ability to work as part of a team.
About the Role
- Deliver practical classes and support learning in human anatomy (including cadaveric material) and human physiology.
- Contribute to a positive, team-based teaching environment.
- Support diverse cohorts of undergraduate students, including those requiring learning adjustments or from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Undertake mandatory inductions and complete all required training before classes commence.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with additional postgraduate training or relevant qualified/industry experience in anatomy, physiology, or closely related disciplines.
- A proven ability to provide high-quality, inclusive teaching to diverse student groups.
- Commitment to scheduled teaching blocks during Semester 1 (23 Feb – 29 May 2026) and/or Semester 2 (20 July – 23 Oct 2026).
- Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team to deliver consistent and engaging teaching.
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the sessional contract.

Selection Process
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a group interview held in one of our teaching laboratories.
- The session will focus on assessing both your technical knowledge and your teamwork and communication skills in a practical teaching environment.
- This process ensures that successful candidates are well-prepared to deliver a high standard of teaching and to contribute positively to the team.
Group interviews will be held in End November/early December 2025 and End January 2026 (subject to availability).
