Your new company
Is a successful international developer. They develop and operate a range of renewables platforms including utility scale batteries (BESS), onshore wind and solar farms. They currently have a large BESS portfolio at various stages of development, construction and operation with most of the projects accepted into the CIS (Capacity Investment Scheme).
Position descriptions
* Energy Markets Analyst – Melbourne (Office)Support trading and market analysis across the NEM with market modelling, including building and maintaining market models, developing assumptions and running scenarios to analyse future market dynamics.
* Energy Trading Analyst – Adelaide (Hybrid)Play a key role in the energy markets analytics team providing direct support to experienced energy traders with performance analytics, market monitoring & event analysis, reporting & analytics development and forecasting & model development. You'll have a direct line of sight into live trading decisions and a genuine pathway to move into a trading role for the right candidate.
* Battery Trader – Melbourne (Hybrid roster/shift)Reporting to the Energy Markets Manager, work with the broader Energy Markets team as well as the battery bidding optimisation algorithm to determine the day ahead BESS revenue optimisation strategy setting up price and volume bid bands, overseeing rebids daily.
Required experience
* Energy Markets Analyst – Melbourne (Office)A minimum of 2 years' experience using PLEXOS or similar power system modelling tools. Experience modelling electricity markets or power systems. Demonstrated experience applying AI or machine learning techniques to deliver analytics, forecasting, or modelling outcomes.
* Energy Trading Analyst – Adelaide (Hybrid)A minimum of 2 years' working in the Australian NEM or a comparable electricity market. Hands‐on experience analysing dispatch outcomes, price formation and system events. Solid understanding of NEM fundamentals and market drivers.
* Battery Trader – Melbourne (Hybrid roster/shift)Experience in electricity trading, energy markets, or quantitative trading, ideally within the National Electricity Market (NEM) or a comparable power market with a strong understanding of spot market dynamics, dispatch processes and price formation. Experience trading or optimising Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or other flexible energy assets and familiarity with auto‐bidding or algorithmic trading tools used in electricity markets is desirable.
