About the role
As a casual Support Worker servicing the Toowoomba region, you will support children and young people in a family setting, providing quality care and assistance. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Undertaking structured supervision and observation of contact with family members, including participating in activities within and outside the agency premises.
* Supporting children and young people who may have suffered trauma and who present complex needs and challenging behaviors.
* Providing transport and/or escort to children and young people where necessary and appropriate.
* Assisting in or coordinating events and children's activities as required.
* Keeping comprehensive records of work undertaken and providing these as required within a prompt timeframe in line with Key Assets Policies and Procedures.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $***** - $***** per hour, inclusive of casual loading. This position is casual.
About you
* Certificate III in Children's Service, or any equivalent qualifications or training in youth or social care is advantageous.
* 2 years' experience working directly with children/young people, including teenagers, in the care system or other relevant field.
* Demonstrated experience working with children with trauma-related challenging behaviors.
* A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to children's services.
* Ability to communicate simply and effectively, both verbal and written, with diverse staff at all levels, recognising potential language barriers and cultural differences.
* Must possess a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be willing to obtain one.
