This is one for the mechanically minded.
No teams to manage. No toolshed politics. Just you, the gear, and a system that needs to run smoothly.
The team has just wrapped up a major install.
A fully automated pallet shuttle and conveyor system for a chilled storage site in Cootamundra (AMG).
The system is live.
The client is operating it.
But we need someone on the ground to ensure everything is smooth sailing.
That's where you come in.
Why this gig stands out:
* 3-month project, ideal if you're between projects
* No heavy tools, no electrical work, just light mechanical tweaks and smart observation
* Minimal admin: quick daily reports, that's it
* You'll be the one person on-site from our crew (but you'll be backed by the team and Engineers in Melbourne)
* Short stints in the freezer, but mostly ambient or chiller work
What you'll be doing:
* Walk through and check the system each day (conveyors, sensors, shuttles, elevators)
* Use the HMI for status checks and basic diagnostics (training provided)
* Do minor fixes: things like sensor alignment or bracket adjustments
* Liaise with AMG's maintenance team for anything more involved
* Jump on a 15-min daily check-in call with the Engineering team each morning
* Fill out a short end-of-day report
What you'll need:
* Trade assistant background or fitting/turning experience
* Experience with conveyor systems or materials handling (ideal, not essential)
* Able to work solo and stay sharp
* Confident using basic hand/power tools
* Comfortable navigating Computer systems
* Working at Heights ticket — must have this already
You won't be flying blind.
The Engineering Manager will be on site early in Week 1, and you'll have daily comms with the team in Melbourne.
But this role is yours to own.
