As a Mining Engineer Planning, you will play a key role in overseeing all aspects of short to midterm mine planning.
This includes factoring in financial, geotechnical, geological, mining methods, and resource considerations to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, increasing safety awareness, and a commitment to setting an example for others.
You will be responsible for:
* Short-term planning – Monthly/Quarterly schedule
* Long term scheduling – Assist development life-of-mine and budget/forecast schedules
* Monitoring and Support – Analysis of plan compliance, efficiencies, and identify opportunities for optimisation
* Cost management – Monitor underground costs and ensure designs maximise value
* Identify hazards and risks at early stages and eliminate or engineer controls at the design level
Key skills and qualifications include:
* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
* 3+ years underground mine engineering experience (design, planning, scheduling, and D&B)
* Proven experience identifying, understanding, and solving complex problems
* Experience with mine design software, ideally Deswik and Aegis
