**How you'll make an impact**:
The role of Recoveries Officer is responsible for effectively managing a portfolio of worker, employer, provider Scheme / Contract debt recovery cases or Third Party wrongdoer cases.
When completing third party recovery duties, the role is additionally responsible for managing Scheme debt and all Third Party, Common Law, Compulsory Third Party, Public Liability litigation cases / claims to maximise scheme financial outcomes and objectives. This role also acts as a technical reference point for Recovery Officers and claims operations staff.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify potential Third Party wrongdoer recoveries and minimise the impact of overpayments to injured workers, employers or providers;
- Maintain high levels of communication and provide specialist technical assistance where appropriate
- Liaise with internal parties to obtain information relevant to the recovery cases
- Investigate potential recoveries, document outcomes, and commence recoveries where appropriate within agreed timeframes
- Communicate with relevant internal and external stakeholders when any unauthorised overpayments occur
- Ensure accurate documentation and written agreement is recorded for all recoveries;
- Upload all relevant data and information into Gallagher Bassett and Return to Work SA systems in a timely manner
- Carry out recovery functions in accordance with legislation and Return to Work SA operational work instructions
- Meet performance targets whilst maintaining compliance with relevant Acts, RTWSA Claims Operational Guidelines; Gallagher Bassett policies, procedures and controls
**About you**:
**We are interested in hearing from people who have**:
- Proven Workers Compensation or Personal Claims Management experience
- Experience in managing recovery cases
- Strong understanding of Workers Compensation legislative provisions relating to injuries, payments and recovery processes
- Understanding of relevant legislative provisions surrounding recoveries and debt collections
- Experience working within public liability framework
