We are looking for a talented Financial Accounting Manager to join our team specializing in Finance & Accounting for our office in Scoresby, Melbourne.
This is a Hybrid Role
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Analyze, record, and report accounting transactions in an accurate and timely manner, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
Prepare balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Conduct detailed financial analysis across the chart of accounts, identifying and investigating unusual variances to improve financial insight and accuracy.
Review existing internal controls, strengthen control frameworks, and implement new controls to support compliance with Cummins' policies and external regulations.
Support internal and external audits, including providing documentation and explanations to auditors, management, and the SOX compliance team.
Evaluate current accounting processes, recommending and implementing improvements to drive efficiency and best‑practice financial procedures.
(Internal candidate requirement) Lead and supervise a team of Financial Accountants, providing guidance, direction, and development to ensure high-quality reporting and strong internal controls.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, CA or similar certification is highly regarded.
Intermediate-level professional experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis.
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP, internal control frameworks, and financial regulations.
Ability to interpret financial data, analyze complex variances, and communicate financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Demonstrated capability to evaluate business processes, identify risks or control gaps, and implement effective improvements.
