Location: Parramatta base supporting residential houses across Greater Western Sydney
Employment Type: Ongoing Opportunity; Full Time 35 hpw, Monday - Friday

Grade 7/8: $113,574 - $125,720pa plus superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The House Manager leads a team of carers to create a therapeutic living environment for children and young people.

Department of Community and Justice (DCJ) Intensive Support Services (ISS), provides a diverse and dynamic work environment with a central focus on supporting children, young people, their carers and families to reach their potential. We are seeking a motivated and experienced House Manager to join the DCJ Residential Care Program. DCJ residential care program delivers quality residential care homes tailored to meet the needs of children and young people ranging from low to high and complex care needs, while a kinship, foster care, or other home -based placement is identified.

DCJ Residential Care deliver all program areas in strong partnership with internal and external service providers.

What you'll do

* Leading and developing a team of carers to deliver trauma recovery care tailored to the developmental needs of the child/young person who have been impacted by their early childhood experiences.
* Designing and implementing daily routines based on treatment and intervention goals for the individual child in a shared setting.
* Managing budgets and the day-to-day operation of the unit including staff rosters.
* Supervising and coordinating individual support services and direct care for children including health, education and living and participating in their local community.
* Building and maintaining effective partnerships with key stakeholders involved in the care and support of children/young people.
* Incident management including reviewing incident reports and daily activity reports to ensure a safe and nurturing care setting.

What we're looking for

* A person who loves working with children/young people and is committed to working as part of a team to deliver a therapeutic and nurturing program where children can thrive and grow.
* Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Current NSW driver's license.
* Current Emergency Response or First Aid Certificate.
* Available to be on call out of hours, on a rostered basis to provide direction and advice to staff out of hours.

Appointments are subject to reference checks and the following pre-employment checks:

* National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
* Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012

The successful applicant will also require entry on to the OCG Residential Carer's Register.
