About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on and reliable Store / Trade Assistant to join our Smart Lighting and Sustainable Cities team at our Canberra office. This role supports daily warehouse and plant operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and general trade assistance as required.
You will be responsible to keep our depot organised and safe, assist with deliveries and stock control, and provide support in the field when needed. If you enjoy variety, take pride in your work, and thrive in a team environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Role & Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and inspect equipment, vehicles, and materials; coordinate repairs as needed
* Provide warehouse and inventory support to the Project Manager
* Assist in the field with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks
* Clean and maintain the warehouse and yard
* Operate forklifts and heavy vehicles as part of daily warehouse tasks
* Liaise with suppliers, create Purchase Orders and coordinate deliveries as well as disposal of equipment
* Manage recycling and scrap disposal
* Transport equipment between depots and field personnel
* Conduct weekly stocktake and assist with inventory reconciliation
* Handle rubbish collection and general garden maintenance
* Ensure high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance
* Maintain registers and inspect safety-critical equipment
* Manage warranty items and related documentation
* Perform other duties as directed by the Project Manager
To be successful, you will have:
* Current Australian driver’s licence
* Experience in inventory management including ordering, stocktaking and maintenance
* Experience in warehouse management
* Strong IT skills and literacy with proven proficiency in MS Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
* Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in an operationally demanding environment and can effectively manage competing priorities.
* Experience with rigging and height safety equipment.
