Workshop Operations Coordinator
Job Description
The Workshop Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of our service workshop operations. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising the daily activities of the workshop team to meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
* Maintain work schedules to ensure optimal utilization of equipment and resources
* Lead and motivate a high-performing team of workshop fitters and apprentices to achieve exceptional results while prioritizing safety
* Effectively allocate resources and labor to ensure timely service delivery and excellence in OEM standards
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate Total Customer Satisfaction in machine performance, product quality, and warranty
* Ensure compliance with all WHS responsibilities and foster a culture of safety within the department
* Apply QA processes and ensure compliance of these systems to all workshop jobs
* Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) of workshop work orders and continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Relevant trade qualifications in diesel or mobile plant mechanics
* Proven supervisory experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to guide your team effectively
* Demonstrated focus on safety with a strong understanding of WHS principles
* Experience in maintaining earthmoving equipment, preferably with Hitachi equipment
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
* Initiative and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement and drive change
* Superb written and verbal communication skills with a high emphasis on keeping all stakeholders informed of work progress
