The Role
We are on the lookout for an experienced Unified Communications Engineer who can work towards delivering strategic and tactical solutions for essential Defence capabilities.
Day to day activities in this role will see you:
* applying your expertise in UC to engage with Defence end users to understand their needs and consult on a solution that meets their requirements.
* analyse detailed network designs and liaise with Design Engineers to capture the technical solution.
* Writing complex implementation instructions and deploying the solution on our production environments is also a major component of the role.
* Producing and maintaining engineering documentation.
* Delivering knowledge articles to network operation teams.
* Coaching and developing UC network resources to administer the technologies deployed.
These roles can be located working from Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth.
Please note all candidates must be Australian Citizens and hold a NV2 AGSVA security clearance to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance.
To hit the ground running we are looking for individuals who have an advanced level of knowledge and experience in the below key areas:
* Understanding Complex LAN/WAN solutions, designs and concepts.
* Large scale implementation of Session Border Controllers and their configuration.
* High level DTCN experience (understanding of the Defence network and the special nature of the environment).
* High level Sonus and/or Audiocodes troubleshooting.
* Understanding of and experience with VOIP and VTC technologies.
* Understand and have hands on experience with Juniper/Cisco routing and switching technologies
* Experience in Defence ICT network and change management processes.
* Experience in consultancy.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
* An in depth understanding and hands on experience with network architectures, routing, switching and associated technologies.
* Demonstrate creative problem solving, strategic planning and advanced communication skills.
* Engage with all project stakeholders as peers and challenge their decisions when necessary to provide them with the best outcome.
* Analyse complex scenarios across multiple knowledge areas.
* Regularly identify and present solutions to meet stakeholder objectives.
* Facilitate and effectively communicate with your peers and customers using relevant formats and medium.
* Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
* Pragmatic, analytical and sound judgement.
* Deliver work to agreed performance standards whether as an individual, part of a team or a leader of a team.
* The ability to work after hours and weekends where required.
* Hold a current security clearance NV2 to work on Federal agencies projects.
