The Retail Credit Team Leader manages a team assessing credit applications received from dealers to exceed Retail Credit KPIs. Handles escalations of complicated matters, monitors quality of assessments and assists the Operations Manager - DCSC in mentoring and coaching team members to improve performance. Ensures all Regulatory requirements as stipulated by ASIC are adhered to. Identify and implement process and system improvements through continuous review of policies & procedures.
Job Description
Manage Daily Workflow:
* Monitor workflow to ensure that workload is distributed in such a way as to allow a credit application to be dealt within 2 hours.
* Ensure telephone calls and emails actioned in a timely manner
* Provide advice and assistance to Retail Credit Analysts and Senior Retail Credit Analysts when needed to process applications within deadlines
* Contact dealer if escalated to discuss application
* Monitor work flows and determine if additional resources needed to meet deadlines.
Monitoring Quality of assessments:
* Ensure that assessments and approvals are consistent and that all requirements are met.
* Monitor what exceptions are made to normal requirements.
* Escalate credit applications to manager if uncertain whether approval/conditions should be imposedor if applications are outside designated lending authorities.
Managing Dealer relationships:
* Ensure that there is a good understanding of the business circumstances/pressures relating to a dealer.
* Contact dealer and Regional Manager to discuss issues confronting dealer and impact on the credit application process.
* Discuss approval requirements and conditions with dealers to ensure that all relevant dealer personnel understand what is necessary.
* Be the focal relationship point for VWFS Regional Managers
Handling the more complex applications:
* Handle any escalations from Senior Retail Credit Analysts
* Identify what is required to allow the application to proceed.
* Liase with dealer and third parties as required to resolve any issues or obtain necessary information.
* Consult with manager if required to finalise application.
Reviewing/Improving performance:
* Conduct on the job coaching with Retail Credit Analysts and Senior Retail Credit Analysts to improve understanding and performance.
* Monitor complaints that may be made and determine whether these relate to problems with the process.
* Look for ways that the process can be streamlined and made more efficient.
* Look for ways that the process can be automated.
Managing Team:
* Ensure resourcing is sufficient to meet KPIs at all times.
* Mentor and provide feedback to Retail Credit Analysts & Senior Retail Credit Analysts
* Share knowledge to help grow and develop team members
* Carry out performance appraisals of employees and recommend development programs.
* Deal with any employee issues and provide leadership to team.
Education/Training/Experience
Tertiary qualifications in finance or business desirable. Experience in Finance industry required and lending in the automotive market desirable. Customer service experience.
