: Senior RAN Transmission Design & Optimisation Engineer

Role Purpose:
To lead the design, planning, optimisation, and deployment of mobile, land mobile radio (LMR), and transmission networks across LTE, 5G, P25, Microwave, and IP/MPLS technologies while ensuring compliance with Australian EME regulations. This role delivers high-performance wireless networks through robust RF design, optimisation, EME compliance assessment, and reliable transmission/backhaul engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and optimise RF networks across LTE, 5G, UMTS, GSM, and NB-IoT.
Perform drive test analysis, coverage assessments, KPI monitoring, and RF troubleshooting.
Resolve RF constraints including antenna loading, space, and interference issues.
Produce and review RF documentation including SAAB, PRDs, FRs, FCs, and As-Built reports.
Design microwave radio links, link budgets, interference modelling, and spectrum plans.
Configure and test Cisco IR1101 routers for LTE backhaul.
Design and implement MPLS rings, VLAN structures, and reliable transmission architectures.
Perform EME assessments using IXUS, RFNSA, RF-Map2, and Visio-based EME tools.
Implement EME mitigation actions ensuring compliance with RPS3, ACMA, MCF, and NATA standards.
Support site engineering, integration, activation, and acceptance testing.
Conduct desktop studies, candidate evaluations, and Greenfield/Augmentation designs.
Collaborate with multi-vendor stakeholders including Telstra, Optus, Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
10+ years of RF design, RAN optimisation, microwave/backhaul design, and EME compliance experience.
Strong experience with LTE, 5G, UMTS, GSM, P25, Microwave, and IP/MPLS networks.
Proficiency in tools such as IXUS, RFNSA, TEMS, Actix, MapInfo, OSS/AMOS/ENIQ
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication/Electronics Communication Engineering.
Strong troubleshooting, analysis, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
