Phone System Technician – NEC / Mitel / Avaya
Teltech ICT Group is seeking an experienced and motivated PABX Technician to join our technical services team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Mitel NEC, Avaya, and hosted telephony solutions, including Microsoft Teams. You'll play a key role in delivering installation, maintenance, and support services to our business and enterprise clients across the Greater Melbourne area.

Position Overview
As a member of our service and support team, you'll be responsible for installing, configuring, servicing, and troubleshooting a range of phone systems. You'll attend customer sites (mainly across Melbourne) and work with technologies including Mitel, NEC, LG, Avaya, Cisco, and hosted VoIP solutions. You may also be involved in structured cabling projects, including Cat6 cabling installations.
We are looking for a self‑motivated technician with a strong technical background, excellent fault‑finding skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and support PBX systems for SMB and Enterprise clients
* Perform troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and timely issue resolution
* Conduct system upgrades, re‑configurations, and migrations
* Integrate phone systems with Microsoft Teams and other hosted telephony platforms
* Assist clients with training and provide on‑site or remote technical support
* Maintain accurate documentation of service calls, installations, and repairs
* Participate in structured cabling (Cat6 and fibre) projects when required
Key Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a technician working with Mitel, Avaya, NEC, and Microsoft/Cisco systems
* Solid understanding of IP networking and how it integrates with telephony systems
* Strong experience with VoIP, SIP, PBX, and hosted communication platforms
* Excellent fault‑finding, diagnostic, and troubleshooting abilities
* Professional communication skills and customer‑focused attitude
* Strong time management and ability to work independently
* Open or Master Cabler's License (mandatory)
* Current Driver's License and Working with Children Check
* Experience with structured cabling installation is a plus
