We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent Arborist Based at the Keilor Park Operations Centre
The role
Reporting to the Senior Strategic Officer - Arboriculture, we are seeking an Arborist who can bring their skills and experience for:
* As a member of Parks Services, the arborist is required to carry out tree maintenance works as per works program & as directed.
* The arborist is to ensure assigned tasks are carried out within time and in a safe manner in accordance with relevant OH&S procedures.
* The arborist will carry out their duties following Councils policies and procedures as well as to industry standards; eg AS4373-2007 “Pruning of Amenity Trees”.
To be considered you will have:
* Developed skills in the safe and competent operation of designated plant and equipment.
* Ability to use plant and equipment for tree maintenance and pesticide application.
* Worksafe High Risk Licence – Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
* Arboricultural qualifications and knowledge.
* Ability to use hand tools / chainsaws
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Manual handling capabilities such as lifting, bending, pulling, shoving.
* Use of mechanical machinery such as chainsaws, blowers, pole saws, stump grinder etc.
* Use of small hand tools where required.
