Full time maximum term position up to 18 June 2026 This role is a parental leave backfill position Salary range: $87,799 - $98,901 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the roleIn this role, you will represent clients in various courts and tribunals, including Magistrates' and Children's Courts, and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. You will provide legal advice and casework in family law, child protection and family violence including intervention order matters. You'll also engage in community legal education and law reform projects and work with a collaborative team to improve client services. Broadmeadows is also home to a range of innovative therapeutic justice approaches, including the Specialist Children's Court, Specialist Family Violence Court and Koori Court, offering a great opportunity to develop your professional career within VLA. About youAs our ideal candidate, you will possess: Ability to advocate in court and manage cases in one or more areas of practice predominantly in family law, family violence and child protection matters. Strong communication skills to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties. A collaborative team player who values working together to achieve the best outcomes. A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
