In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration.

Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures.

Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements.


Major Responsibilities

* Implements the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule which records the Project's agreed assignment of various subcontract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract Management.
* Manages assigned subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties.
* Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, and other major matters.
* Manages less complex contract changes by negotiating with customer personnel and obtaining settlement.
* Communicates information programs to ensure mutual understanding of subcontract terms and conditions.
* Prepares periodic status reports for management.


Subcontract Formation

* Conforms and ensures subcontract execution.
* Directs negotiation in the commitment of subcontracts.
* Prepares bidders' lists and pre-qualifies bidders.
* Forms bid request packages and issues bid request packages to approved bidders.
* Coordinates bidders' questions and answers to those questions.
* Receives bids and evaluates bids commercially.
* Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations.
* Recommends and secures approvals in accordance with established procedures.
* Prepares subcontract documents for execution.
* Prepares and organizes assigned meetings, such as pre-bid, bid clarification and pre-award meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and contractor on all contractual matters.
* After reviewing plan and agenda with supervisor, conducts meeting and prepares and issues meeting notes delineating important statements, required actions and schedules.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of relevant experience, or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

The selected candidate will have knowledge and experience in the formation of contracts and contract agreements, including types, terms and legal requirements.

They will also have experience administering moderately complex construction industry (sub)contracts and be able to participate in (sub) contract negotiations.

The selected candidate will have skill in working and informing effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups.

They will also have knowledge of law, negotiations, accounting or cost engineering gained through education or experience.
