Air Affairs owns and operates a fleet of special mission aircraft and maintains an advanced manufacturing and engineering facility providing design, manufacture and certification operations.
We are now looking for Expressions of Interest for an experienced Quality and Safety Assurance Officer to join our QinetiQ Air Affairs team in Nowra, NSW.

QinetiQ Air Affairs is actively seeking an experienced Quality and Safety Assurance specialist to support and enhance quality and safety practices within our unique manufacturing and aviation operations environment. This role will see you collaboratively supporting multifaceted teams to develop resilient safety culture and guarantee adherence to stringent regulatory standards.
As the Quality and Safety Assurance Officer you will be responsible for;
Planning, coordinating and conducting regular first party audits
Conducting safety Incident, Hazard and Near Miss investigations
Ensuring compliance with legislation and codes of practice, fostering a culture of safety at all levels
Driving initiatives to improve safety, capability, operational efficiency
Day to day you will be;
Continual improvement and promotion of Safety Management Systems
Conducting Quality/Safety audits and compiling comprehensive Quality/Safety Reports, Coordinate and participate in Quality/Safety meetings.
Liaising with relevant stakeholders including the safety manager, aviation operations manager, the Head of Flying Operations (HOFO), Head of Training and Checking (HOTAC), CASA Delegates and internal operations
Compiling and analysing data for Safety Performance Reviews
To be successful in this role you will have;
Significant knowledge of safety management principles, human factors, incident investigation, and risk management
Considerable, demonstrated leadership experience in an aviation safety role, within defence, general aviation or commercial airlines
Be able to and have experience of organisational audits both internal and external
Excellent communication skills with a strong stakeholder engagement ability
Demonstrated influencing skills and experience liaising across a multidisciplinary organisation
Ideally you will also have an understanding of both CASA and DASR regulations as well as ISO 9001 and 45001 standards.
