Graduate Metallurgist role at Vault Minerals' KOTH operation, offering hands-on experience, structured learning, and FIFO roster from Perth.
Your role
Responsibilities
* Gaining a thorough understanding of the processing plant by working as a Processing Technician in crushing, grinding, leaching and CIP, elution, refining, and tailings disposal.
* Working as a Laboratory Technician in sample preparation and wet laboratory to understand laboratory operations.
* Gaining exposure to the Maintenance Department and work order system as a trades assistant.
* Developing an understanding of metallurgical accounting procedures and performing metallurgical accounting as directed by Plant and Senior Metallurgists.
* Assisting Plant and Senior Metallurgists in monitoring plant performance against key performance indicators, reporting variances and trends.
* Assisting with plant surveys and improvement projects to gather critical plant operating data.
* Developing a broad understanding of the KoTH Operation and the roles of Geology, Mining, and Environmental departments.
* Complying with Development Program requirements, including Learning Objective completion and reporting.
* Completing all allocated tasks in an acceptable and timely manner.
* Assisting in maintaining optimum output for the processing plant by reviewing and raising opportunities for adjustments to operating variables and equipment during each shift.
* Escalating discrepancies or poor specification outputs in a timely manner.
* Seeking continuous improvement opportunities in plant operation and data recording.
* Actively participating in the KOTH emergency response team to ensure site preparedness as part of WHS Act obligations.
About you
Qualifications
* Recognised tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
* Developing understanding of statutory requirements of the Western Australian Mining Act and Regulations, and the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act.
* Outstanding attention to detail and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Vacation work experience within the Mining industry, ideally within Gold Mining, is highly regarded.
* Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite.
* Current WA Driver's License (manual C Class).
* Current or willingness to obtain qualifications in confined space entry, gas testing, and working at heights.
