Graduate Electrical Engineer – Intelligent Mobility (5622)

Key Responsibilities
- Design traffic signal and parking guidance systems to optimize traffic flow.
- Develop intelligent transport systems (ITS) for highways and tunnels, implementing advanced traffic management.
- Prepare transport system specifications and standards, focusing on traffic control, communications, and information systems.
- Lead lighting design and intelligent control projects, including national standard development.
- Support rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across strategic road networks.
- Operate traffic and tunnel control rooms to manage system performance.
- Create electronic payment systems for tolling, road pricing, and public transport ticketing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, Highways Engineering, Data Science) – 2.1 or above.
- Strong proficiency with office software and willingness to learn CAD, 3D design, and digital automation tools.
- Interest in Intelligent Mobility and analytical thinking.
- Drive to improve processes and uncover efficiencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – confident client liaison and accurate technical drawing/report writing.
- Initiative and ability to work independently.
- Passion for sustainable development and a growth mindset.
- Expected start: September 2026.
Location & Availability
Based in Newcastle, Current South Wales, Australia. Advertising close date: 15th November 2025. Prefers candidates who can begin in September 2026.
