As a technical expert in power systems, you will lead the development of protection and control schemes for transmission and distribution systems across ANZ. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing protection and control systems, conducting fault studies using software such as PowerFactory, PSSE and PSCAD, delivering concept, FEED and detailed designs for protection schemes, and reviewing protection schemes inclusive of R & I diagrams, detailed schematics and protection settings.
Requirements
* You must have a Bachelor of Engineering (BE or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering.
* You must be progressing towards CPEng registration in New Zealand, if not already registered.
* You must have extensive knowledge of the fundamental requirements of electrical engineering with a focus on protection schemes, power system analysis and secondary design.
* You must have a sound knowledge of applicable local standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Skills
* You must have excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
* You must have experience with PowerFactory. Experience with ETAP, CYMCAP and CDEGS would be advantageous.
* You must ideally have experience with software such as Smart Plant Electrical (SPE), Autodesk Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar design packages.
* You must ideally have construction and commissioning experience.
* You must have highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
* You must have experience in renewable energy (solar, wind and BESS) and High Voltage systems.
* You must have a number of years' experience in protection systems.
