Maintenance Fitter Location: Dandenong Salary: $50–$65 per hour + Super + Overtime
A leading dairy processing and manufacturing company in Dandenong is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a full‐time, stable role working strictly on day shift.
Offering $50–$65 per hour, this position is available as temp-to-perm or immediate permanent for the right candidate.
The Role
This hands‐on role involves preventative and reactive (breakdown) maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement across a range of dairy processing, packaging, and filling equipment. You'll play a key role in ensuring the plant operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on dairy processing and packaging machinery
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults
* Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, conveyors, pasteurisers, and related equipment
* Support continuous improvement and reliability projects
* Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, OHS, and strict dairy hygiene standards
* Provide technical support to production teams to minimise downtime
* Maintain accurate maintenance records – MEX CMMS experience highly regarded
About You
* Trade qualified Maintenance Fitter (Cert III Mechanical or equivalent)
* Minimum 4 years' experience in dairy, food, or FMCG manufacturing
* Strong skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance
* Familiarity with MEX or similar CMMS systems (advantageous)
* Hands‐on, reliable, and proactive with a strong safety and hygiene mindset
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Welding or fabrication experience a plus
* Forklift licence preferred but not essential
