Job Summary
Join our team as a Coal Technician and make a real difference in delivering accurate, high‐quality sample collection and analysis for CHPP and train operations. You'll be working in a dynamic, fast‐paced environment where your attention to detail directly impacts critical testing processes that meet both site protocols and Australian/International standards. This is your opportunity to develop expertise in a specialized technical role while contributing to essential operations.
Responsibilities
* Execute precise sampling, preparation, analysis, and reporting procedures while maintaining the highest accuracy standards
* Deliver all work on schedule with meticulous attention to detail and quality assurance
* Maintain complete traceability and integrity of all samples throughout the testing process
* Proactively support the maintenance and optimal performance of lab and prep equipment
* Champion a safety‐first culture by identifying hazards and promoting best practices across the team
* Foster seamless communication and knowledge transfer with incoming and outgoing shift teams
* Take ownership by immediately flagging unsafe or faulty equipment and escalating concerns
* Conduct routine sampling, preparation, and analysis for shipping and exploration initiatives
* Strategically plan daily tasks, coordinate sample logistics, and optimise testing schedules
Key Qualifications
* Experience in coal sampling, preparation and testing, or within a mineral laboratory environment (preferred but not essential)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Availability to work a 7/7 rotating day and night roster
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in remote locations
* A current Australian manual driver's licence (preferred)
* Current Standard 11 certification
* Ability to meet pre‐employment medical and fitness‐for‐work requirements
