The Department
Alfred Health Support Services provides non-clinical support services across Alfred Health, these services include cleaning services, car parking and fleet management, waste management, gardens and grounds, distribution, security and access control, ward support, linen services, ancillary services, food services and hospitality.
The Role
The Ancillary Assistant will operate as part of the Alfred Health non-clinical services team and take direction from the relevant ward staff and non-clinical support services coordinators/supervisors and perform tasks as allocated. The Ancillary Assistant will assist the portering service in providing and maintaining as far as practical a safe, efficient and least disruptive transfer of patients and equipment within the Hospital. This will be performed in a manner that meets or exceeds industry best practice. The Ancillary Assistant will work closely with other Support Services team members to ensure we maintain a committed, safe and socially responsible multi skilled team.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Essential
* Have a background or experience in waste management
* Have the ability and adaptability to participate in change
* Have completed or be willing to participate in training and education appropriate to improve skills required for the performance of the position.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
