About the Role

As the Vehicle Controls & Features Supervisor you will lead a high‐performing engineering team responsible for the end‐to‐end development, validation and sign‐off of electronics hardware and software. You will support the global Ranger and Everest programmes, oversee critical vehicle control systems and drive full‐vehicle electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) validation and homologation to ensure global compliance and excellence. The role reports directly to the Vehicle Controls Manager and is based at the IMG Product Development Centre in Broadmeadows, Melbourne. It operates under a hybrid work arrangement with four days on site.

Responsibilities
* Drive end‐to‐end program delivery of vehicle control electronics hardware and software, ensuring all program gateways are achieved from initial kick‐off through to final sign‐off.
* Lead the design, validation and sign‐off of complex software‐based features such as Auto Vehicle Hold, ensuring seamless integration into global vehicle platforms.
* Maintain full accountability for achieving quality and reliability targets for all assigned commodities and systems, driving continuous improvement in product performance.
* Manage and deliver material cost targets for affected commodities, optimizing financial outcomes without compromising technical integrity.
* Oversee vehicle‐level EMC validation and sign‐off to meet global regulatory and homologation requirements.
* Lead and mentor a high‐performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence through coaching, professional development and proactive performance management.
* Partner with cross‐functional teams – Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Service – locally and overseas to ensure project alignment and program success.
* Act as a key technical interface across the organisation to resolve complex issues and ensure integrated delivery of vehicle electronics systems.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
* Minimum of 10 years' experience leading high‐performing teams within a complex technical or product development environment, with a proven track record of driving accountability and excellence.
* Deep understanding of electronics hardware and software delivery, including proficiency in vehicle bus systems (CAN, LIN), embedded software, diagnostics and core electrical architecture.
* Comprehensive knowledge of EMC technical concepts, global regulatory standards and industry‐standard testing methodologies.
* Demonstrated expertise in advanced problem‐solving techniques and Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) as applied to integrated vehicle electronic systems.
* Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage shifting priorities in a fast‐paced, agile environment while maintaining focus on program milestones.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and influence cross‐functional stakeholders locally and globally.
* Dedicated to coaching and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
