We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our Provost Division as Deputy Director, Operations. This pivotal role drives a high-performance culture across the Provost's portfolio and Schools, leading programs to enhance service effectiveness and professionalisation of business administration and support. You will provide senior leadership to School Professional staff teams, supporting teaching, research, and engagement activities, and work closely with School Senior Managers and Deans to foster service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage professional services teams across 10 Schools, ensuring high standards in business administration and support.
* Drive continuous improvement programs and champion service effectiveness.
* Collaborate with Deans and Senior Managers to develop team capabilities and deliver service excellence.
* Align school and divisional activities with strategic priorities and objectives.
* Oversee planning processes, including student load, workload, budgets, and capital planning.
* Manage significant people and financial resources, contributing to budget development and organisational design.
* Foster a culture of continuous learning, diversity, and inclusion.
* Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Champion La Trobe's cultural qualities: Connected, Innovative, Accountable, and Care.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Extensive experience in the Australian University sector or relevant industry, with advanced qualifications.
* Highly developed communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts.
