Violence, Abuse and Neglect: A Clinical Nursing Role
This is an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team focusing on Violence, Abuse and Neglect.
Job Overview:
* Provide senior nursing leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a Sexual Assault Service.
The successful candidate will be part of a team providing 24-hour/7-day per week support, regular meetings, quality improvement activities, administrative tasks and education delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with colleagues, other health staff, police and the judicial system to ensure high-quality culturally safe care for patients presenting with concerns of sexual assault.
* Work in partnership with stakeholders to provide trauma-informed care to victims of violence, abuse and neglect.
* Develop and maintain knowledge of best practices in clinical care, including trauma-informed care and cultural safety.
Requirements:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse and relevant post-registration qualification and 3 years' postgraduate experience working in the clinical area of the postgraduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated accreditation as a NSW Health Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner or extensive clinical nursing experience and a willingness to undergo formal training, assessment and supervision.
* Highly developed clinical skills in patient assessment and care planning with demonstrated ability to provide a referral service as required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills enabling collaborative work with colleagues, other health professionals and individuals to provide safe and effective care.
* Demonstrated ability to use computer-based clinical information systems and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
