About the Role Reporting and working with a highly experienced and supportive CFO, this role plays a critical part in ensuring strong financial governance and meaningful financial information to support executive decision-making. This position suits a hands-on qualified accountant with over 5 years post qualification experience who combines strong technical capability with clear communication and a commitment to values-based work.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Payroll Operations
* Manage and deliver the day-to-day financial and management accounting and payroll services for Community Vision, subsidiaries and other entities to audit standard
* Support the work of the Accounts Team, review cash management, creditors' invoices and authorisation, manage the general ledger, fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
Financial Reporting, Analysis & Performance Monitoring
* Prepare, provide, and interpret financial information including cost analysis and management reports for the Board, CFO, CEO, and Leadership Group.
* Assist the CEO and CFO with scenario analysis for new business planning and projects.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
* Provide ongoing management, preparation, monitoring, and review of budgets.
* Support senior managers and the Leadership Group in managing their budgets, including forecasting, scenario planning, and costing processes, in consultation with the CFO.
Audit, Compliance & Risk Management
* Ensure organisational compliance with accounting standards, payroll requirements (EBA), current legislation, and stakeholder obligations, including the ATO.
* Assist with the development, implementation, and regular review of audit processes, financial systems, policies, and procedure
External Reporting, Funding & Grants
* Assist the CFO with external government and regulatory reporting to relevant bodies, including NDIS and ACQSC.
* Prepare acquittals and account for funding and grant changes in accordance with provider requirements.
Contracts, Assets & Cost Management
* Assist the CFO to manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors (e.g. lease agreements, telecommunications) to maximise financial and operational performance.
* Actively identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities.
Fleet & Facilities Financial Oversight
* Oversee financial aspects of the organisation's mobile fleet, including upgrades, maintenance, and supporting operational teams with utilisation and availability.
* Manage financial and contractual relationships with facility owners, including repairs, upgrades, and maintenance in line with rental
About You
* Five years post qualified CA / CPA
* Proven experience in financial and management accounting, ideally within the not-for-profit, disability, health, or community services sector.
* Experience preparing board-level financial reports and performance analysis and subsequent communication.
* High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, ERP experience, Netsuite or similar
