About the role
Operating within Computer Science and Data Science, The position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer is a key academic role in the Computer Science and Data Science discipline.
The Lecturer or Senior Lecturer provides input into teaching innovations and curriculum development contributing to the activities of the discipline and the effective coordination, supervision and/or mentoring of staff.
Key responsibilities involve the ongoing development, delivery, coordination and assessment of units at undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the discipline of Computer Science and Data Science in line with national curricula.
The Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will participate and contribute to the academic governance of the discipline in a range of administrative and advisory roles and actively contribute to the accreditation and review of existing programs.
The position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Computer Science) contributes to high-quality research in computer science and demonstrates outstanding experience in teaching one or more of the following areas: operating systems, computer networks, software engineering and game development, emerging technologies (such as digital twins and quantum computing), big data and cloud technologies, and responsible innovation (including cybersecurity and digital trust).

What we offerThe University pursues an excellence agenda and offers an environment where staff are welcomed and safe, and valued through development, participation and involvement.Total remuneration valued to $142,635 - $168,220 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $120,529 - $142,305 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level B), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading or total remuneration valued to $178,414 - $193,705 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $151,018 - $164,087 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level C), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
The level of appointment will be determined based on the level of experience, skills and capability of the successful candidate.17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.As an ACU staff member, you will have access to generous benefits which include but not limited to: flexible work, study leave, a variety of leave provisions and salary packaging.
