BI Developer – Shape the Future of Data & Reporting at Shred-X

Shred-X, part of the Freightways Group – one of Australasia's largest logistics and information management organisations – is offering an exciting 6-month contract opportunity for a BI Developer to play a key role in advancing our reporting landscape, maturing our data capability, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
We're looking for a hands-on BI specialist who enjoys building high-impact dashboards, optimising data models, and coaching others to develop their BI skills. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and want to make a meaningful difference, this role is for you.
What you'll do
* Design, develop, and deploy Power BI dashboards, Microsoft Fabric data models, and other reporting solutions
* Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to define, prioritise, and deliver key performance insights
* Mentor and support in-house developers, uplifting capability across BI tools, best practices, and data modelling
* Optimise data pipelines to ensure performance, scalability, and data accuracy
* Maintain and enhance the legacy SSAS analytics environment as required
* Document solutions and champion best-practice approaches in analytics, modelling, and reporting
What we're looking for
* Proven experience building BI solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
* Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data modelling principles
* Familiarity with SSAS and legacy reporting systems
* Someone passionate about mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and building internal capability
* Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Experience in logistics, transport, or secure destruction environments is highly regarded
