Our client is looking for a Senior Governance Advisor to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an emerging governance professional to gain valuable experience within a reputable and well-established organisation in Perth.
Your new role
As a Senior Governance Advisor, your responsibilities will include:
* Provide expert advice on legislation, compliance, and governance
* Administer the Annual Compliance Audit Return process.
* Review and update the Code of Conduct and manage legislative processes for creating, amending, or repealing laws.
* Advise staff on statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements.
* Manage the organisation's insurance portfolio, including renewals, schedules, claims (excluding workers' compensation), and annual valuations.
* Prepare and review legal documents and maintain registers for all corporate legal documents.
* Oversee policy manual reviews, governance procedures, and meeting advertisements.
What you'll need to succeed
* Formal qualifications in Business, Public Administration, Management, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 12 months experience in governance roles
* Strong experience in developing policies, guidelines, and report writing.
* Extensive knowledge of statutory requirements
* Proven ability to think analytically and laterally to develop effective procedures, plans, and strategies.
* Ability to anticipate and resolve operational and customer issues in line with corporate guidelines
* Ability to obtain a National Police Certificate
