The AWS Region Services team combines AWS global cloud leadership with Australian security expertise to deliver highly secure, scalable environments for sensitive workloads. The Engineering organisation within Region Services is structured across core capability pillars: Compute & Machine Learning, Security Identity & Compliance, Storage & Databases, and a growing capability domain. These pillars encompass a team of varying technical skillsets, including Engineers, Technical Program Managers, and Subject Matter Experts, organized into focused sub-teams.

Job Responsibilities
* Define, build, own, and run services in high growth environments.
* Solve unique and first‐order problems in massive‐scale areas such as compute services, DynamoDB/NoSQL databases, Glacier, S3 data lakes and many other AWS services.
* Learn how to build and operate distributed systems at massive scale.
* Build and influence the tools and utilities that are part of the AWS fleet running our internal services.
* On a typical day, engineers might deep dive to determine the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending the wrong way, consult with top engineers at Amazon, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational issues.
* As a Systems Analyst, own supporting activities for these services, and regularly work with development teams to establish and improve service support. Operate with guidance from your team, drive issues to resolution, understand the business logic and architecture of your supported services, resolve undocumented trouble tickets, contribute to support documentation, perform code builds and deployments, communicate status regularly, and create and interpret metrics that measure support success and service performance.
Qualifications
* Experience operating in a 24/7 production environment.
* Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
* Experience in supporting procedures and methodologies for production computing environments.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery.
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
* Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl).
* Ability to perform deep, technical troubleshooting.
* Documentation skills.
